Traphic Jam has become a Maldivian successful Rock band. Although the band has played many successful performances such as ‘Live Help’ on 2006 and ‘Sound of a Nation’ on 2007 with Zero Degree Atoll and performed many great hits, they have remained relatively out of the mainstream and are well reputed as a no cover band that support only local originals.
The first main live event for the band was the chance to perform at Maldivian National Television show ‘Dhanberu’ but due to the open minded lyrics concerning about peer pressure ,political agendas, drugs and corruption the band was later banned form all live shows aired from National television up to end of 2008. But this aired gig opens many minds and opportunities the band and was accepted by many peoples especially youths.

Influences
Kayano was a fan of popular Grunge era from his starting point, with bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and Stone temple pilots his interest in music progressed on a cyclic path. When he discovered the fusions between rock and grunge music his interest in writing groove melodies developed. Meeting Faube’ the whole concept changes as Faube’ being an extreme heavy metal lover the writing progress changed and was much more intense yet enjoy full. With Grungy metal riffs and aggressive vocal melodies the band got its unique signature sound.
This sound developed in to more mature straight into face riffs and lyrics. As having an ideology regarding the drugs and corrupted politics as crimes, the band tries to open the minds of youth through their music.
