AZUR AIR COMMENCES CHARTER SERVICE TO THE MALDIVES

Azur Air, formerly known as Katekavia has commenced charter flights to the Maldives aligning with the festive season. The first flight landed at the main Velana International Airport yesterday.

The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft which landed was carrying about 400 tourists from Russia and CIS countries.

The crew and passengers of the airline was welcomed by officials from Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) and Resort Life Maldives, along with Thoyyib Mohamed, Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).

Resort Life Maldives is the local travel agency that operates the charter in partnership with Russia’s Anex Tour.

According to Resort Life Maldives, Azur Air will operate several charter flights between Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow and the Velana International Airport throughout 2020.

Azur Air, formerly Katekavia, is a charter airline and former regional airline in Russia. Initially, it was based out of Krasnoyarsk Cheremshanka Airport, the domestic airport serving Krasnoyarsk, and its destinations were all within the Krasnoyarsk Krai.
